Pour & Explore is an invitation to discover Martinborough, to brighten up winter, ignite your taste buds and delight your senses and experience Martinborough’s boutique festival of wine, food, produce and entertainment.
This experience will showcase the best of Martinborough’s wine, cuisine, art, dark skies and local spirit, designed to bring warmth, flavour and vibrancy to the winter season.
The brand showcases a hand holding a range of singular objects as a celebration of the boutique wine village of Martinborough and the amazing wine, food, produce and experiences on offer. The primary logo features a hand with a wine glass since Martinborough is pinot country. We then have a fork to represent food, an olive to represent produce, a trumpet to represent music and other experiences on offer at Pour & Explore.
The thumb and fore finger are delicately holding the object, which is playfully scaled much smaller than the hand. The pinky finger to extended to emulate sophisticated etiquette of drinking tea or wine. It adds a cheeky playfulness to the hand. Pour & Explore text sits within the arm creating a useful and versatile logo. Explore sits upside down to Pour & to reiterate exploring. The brand suite is very adaptable, graphically striking and practical for applications across all campaign mediums.
The logo is supported by a vibrant, creative and stylish collage that celebrates Martinborough and the clever makers and producers. Central to the collage is a woman holding a glass of Pinot, as you look closer you see the woman’s eyes have been replaced with hands holding binoculars which feature large colourful eyes inside the lenses. The binoculars convey exploration and discovery. We’ve recoloured the woman’s skin and dress to suggest expect the unexpected. The supporting imagery represents music, dark sky, theatre, performance, dance, local produce and food. The collage feels fascinating and something the viewer would want to be a part of and find out more. It combines colourful creativity with elegance to perfectly capture Martinborough. We used a raspberry background as it’s bold and eye catching and a striking combination with the Pinot colour.
The colour palette takes inspiration from wine, vineyards and sunny Martinborough. Being Pinot country the colour palette features a beautiful Pinot Noir colour, supported by other wine inspired colours like raspberry red, rose pink, warm golden chardonnay yellow as well as the environment of Martinborough vineyards from sunshine yellow and the various shades of greens found in vine leaves and landscape around Martinborough.
The combination of brand elements of collage, logo and colours palette ensured consistency across all event collateral and helped build brand awareness, crucial since this was the pilot event.
We developed branding design, posters, programme, advertising and social media assets.
